I got second bite at a 2010 260w after the 1st winner di'nt bother paying. I paid less than half the new price. It's got the odd scuff but it's otherwise in good order. It came from a company, not that its any guarantee its not nicked.:blushing:

Smart water is one answer :thumbup1:SmartWater - Combating the impact of crime

You can download an assett register for all your gear.

Another route is via you local Crime Prevention Officer, some have kits to give away in the community, your local Safer Neighbourhood team may also be able to offer support.

You could also do your bit by joining/setting up your local Neighbourhood watch, neighbourhoodwatch.net | home: building secure, confident communities in the UK

Or get a big dog keep it hungry and store your kit under its bed:lol:

I sell quite a lot of spares on ebay and all that are sold go out covered in smart water, many times people have tried to say that the coil dont work or the carb is no good. As soon as i say they are covered in smart water and once the part is returned and if it is the part we sent out we will fully refund. Never have the buyers followed up or tried to claim through paypal.

Ive been selling loads a bits n bobs on ebay recently ! its fetching silly money ! esp 200t bits !

I bought a new ms200t in the box last week for £385 ! this was supposedly an insurance replacement for a stolen saw !

I sold a 575xp - totally knackered - for £200 !!! Madness, it wasnt worth £30 !!

My opinion FWIW, is that Joe Bloggs can't afford to keep his central heating going and is trying to keep warm by opening up fire places and burning wood. Bow saws are too much like hard work so Joe is buying kit with little or no experience.

A local to me opened up his fireplace and started burning wood without getting permission from the council, (clean air act and all that) a neighbour complained and the wood burner got it in the neck from the council.

always amazes me why people get into a bidding frenzy and pay more for s/h than new? (seen it on other items not saws I must add)

I was at a famers market years ago and they were auctioning runner beans in boxes, prices were good until a coach load of day trippers pulled in and they were buying them at twice the price you could by beans for in your local veg shop, plus they had a bloody big box full to get rid of.

Crazy folk and with ebay most of the time you can add £15-£20 postage
