did one recently, £500ish to fell a poplar and £300ish to split it all. customer now has about 9cubic metres of split hardwood, if they get it stacked sharpish with a roof ontop they will have enough firewood for a couple of winters. that was approx 7hrs splitting

thanks guys, it's nice to know i was in the right area with choice of equipment and rates.

it may end up cheaper to buy in the firewood but people do like to keep hold of their own wood. we haven't taken stuff off site for a while, unless it is softwood....

I charge £25 per hour all in for splitting at a clients house, but there has to be at least a mornings work before ill load up the splitter and powerpack.

 

Recently i have had some jobs by just leaving a couple of vented bags and getting the client to load the rings into the bags for me to collect, split and return. Have a found a cube generally ends up costing the client £25.
