Rotar fins and bearings change

My 150 has just clocked 400 hours so I'm aware the bearings should be changed soon... But I have just noticed whilst changing the blades that a quarter of the inside fin is missing.

I have probably about 10 - 20 hours of chipping next week with it on a large felling job will this finish it off???

Also a guide price and recommendations for a quality dealer in the herts beds cambs area would be helpfully , thanks mat .

Hi MattyF

With a part of the inside fin missing will cause the rotor to become out of balance and have a detrimental effect on the bearings and shafts.

It sounds as if you have been operating the unit like this for a little while, so maybe some damage has already occurred.

You must way up the risk imvolved, if you use the machine in this condition you will cause some damage to your bearings and shafts but if you are changing your bearings due to the 400 hour usage you may feel this is a risk worth taking , but I must advise that you have the fans set replaced prior to using the machine again.

I can offer you a dealer in Hemel Hempstead - please call 0845-260-0119 Mr. David Hunter who will be pleased to offer you a competative price for the work.

Hope every thing works out

Compliments of the season

Hi thanks for a reply, hopefully arranged for a dealer near Bedford i use for spares to take it on this week he was away last week hence why I asked here questions !

I think it could only of been recent damage as I change the blades every two weeks and always check the fins and there was a definite change it chip quality and distance of fired chip in the last three days of use no other massive vibrations seem apparent I would rather be safe than sorry.
