Hi, does anyone know where to buy one of these. missus been looking for one for christmas pressie and amazon etc all out of stock.

checked Jones site but search didnt show any.

Scats had them. They seem ok but a bit small in the hand. They use the little button cells.

Can't really see the point in anything that cheap. You aren't going to get a reading that is anything apart from inaccurate.

 

I have a cheapo from ebay as long as you keep good batteries in it its fine for firewood. It confirms what you thought and occasionally throws up a nasty surprise ie too wet. For what you are doing may need something better it would be interesting if you tested one along side you decent meter to see how far out they are.

Cost doesn't typically reflect accuracy. There's plenty of really expensive test equipment about that is no more accurate or precise than cheaper test equipment. Provided an instrument has good precision (repeatable results) that are close to the mark then it can be perfectly fit for purpose.
