Salisbury make a front axle for a defender??????????

Are you quite sure about that??

Yep, think they're quite rare though and they command mega money. Seem to be an MOD item from what I've seen.

Edit: Just had a scan of ebay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Land-Rover-Defender-Heavy-Duty-Salisbury-Axle-FRC8194-/270864960648?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3f10cf4c88

Yea absolutely. Look on fleabay. Hobsons sell them for around £600. I got mine in about 1996 from a dealer in Wales. These were the days when the army didn't release the armoured bodies with the Landrovers and only sold the rolling chassis'. There are two versions of the front 110 Salisbury. One has the standard 110 brakes ( this axle fitted to SAS 110 dpvs', ) and the version with vented discs ( called 1" vents) which where fitted to the armoured 110s. CV joints and half shafts no stronger, the strength only in the diff.
