Really? It says the caps of the deceiver are rarely larger than 1.5cm.....these were around 3:confused1:

 

It deffo isnt what i thought they were then?

Just my opinion mate, I think they are twisted decievers, Ive been known to be wrong from time to time !

it aint no hygrocybe

Hygrocybe (me thinks). Found beneath a lime tree although i'm not sure whether this is relevant or not.

It's relevant, cause as Tony already said, it's the ectomycorrhizal Laccaria laccata s.l.

Hey tony i respect your opinion.....Thats why i started this thread....for me to try and id my finds myself and then be brought to task.......from the book i am using there are so many things that look the bloody same!!

 

Im going to try and id things then hopefully you guys can give me pointers and educate me.

There are, but X. carpophila is constricted to capules of beech and X. oxyacanthae to buried hows of Crataegus.
