how much can I pay my son to work for me

Hi there not that I know anything about tax matters other then being self employed myself.

 

If it were my son and he was under 16 then if he was just doing a weekend and holiday job for me then I would just pay him cash and leve it at that.

 

When he has left school 16+ then if you wanted to give him a regular full time job then you would need to do it through PAYE as if he works for you full time then he is entitled to holiday pay and there is a minimum Wage for 16/17 year olds of £3.68 ph unless they are on the apprenticeship Scheam then it's 2.60 ph in the first year .it may be worth you looking into that .
