My old man got a Legacy Outback boxer diesel as soon as they were on sale. Very good car, plenty of grunt and far more efficient than the petrol equivalent,

nice lay out inside and acres of boot space. Only problem is they no longer have a high/low gear ratio which came in handy when driving in snow or boggy ground.

I have a old x reg Legacy 2.5 petrol which drinks petrol faster than a winno! but its comfortable, still looks good, and can fit a 5 aside football pitch in the back and also has a hi/lo gear ratio which is fantastic at going up hills in deep snow.

Only problem is the clutch went a couple of months ago and could not be bothered to get it fixed so it is now in garage with half the garage contents sitting on top of it and SORN'd.

i had an 09 legacy. it ate fuel and wasn't that good in the snow but is ideal for the wife. newer models are more efficient and it's miles better than a crappy Saab.

What was up in the snow?, my impreza was leaving 4x4's on road tyres for dead last winter, once the snow tires went on!
