Saw horses

no 2 is awful unless you remove the chain cover and it pulls small stuff up into the saw and jams the chain. i would choose the first one or make one simlyer, or even better make a large cutting rack with an end to butt the end of the logs up then you so you can cut several in one go.

the last one looks tricky to load and the third almost def requires two guys!

so i recon 1

Any idea of the make of the second one as my girlfriend's dad wants one? :001_rolleyes:

Have a look at the thread DIY chainsaw stand, lots of input on various models. I have an oregon easycut sawhorse which is brilliant for smaller stuff in multiple. My review is in the arb review section or "oregon easycut review" in forum

I got one of these last week from FR Jones. I only need to cut wood for domestic use so I guess my needs are somewhat less than for you professionals. It worked really well. I got through loads very quickly. Much faster than I would using a traditional style sawhorse. The longest part of the job was loading it, then obviously dealing with all the cut wood.

I'd say for an amateur it's a brilliant piece of kit. The only negative is that it's easy to cut logs a little too long. If the bars were an inch or two closer together then it would be prefect.
