turfing with frosts

Hi

Got turf to lay down this week and worried about the cold nights of below zero that we're forecast. (warming up nicely in the day though) Some people say dont lay turf when there's a frost forecast and others that that only applies for prolonged frosts. Wandering if anyone could help me here? Thanks

It will be fine as long as you let the frost disappear before you lay the turf. In bad weather the suppliers will not lift the turf so thats usually a good indication whether its suitable

the grass will break and yellow if walked on, rolled , driven over etc . If it is delivered and stacked onsite, and you get up in the morning with frost it should be ok in its only little self made sleeping bag, a little peak will answer this.

Once its laid out and put in place, just keep off it if it gets cold.

Try & protect the roots from frost if you are leaving it staked over night
