I was told by the insurer that if you cease trading or whatever and let the policy end without renewing it, you can pay for a kind of 'one off' policy as they described it. It would be to cover for what they suggest be the next 6 years after the last report.

Without this 'one off' policy they said you would not be covered.

Im quite sure different underwriters will have different policies to one another

If the report says "no re-inspection for ten years necessary" and a claim is brought in the nineth year,,,,,,,what then?

Again, I think it unreasonable business of the part of the insurer and they should not be advising professional arborists about arboricultural issues (ie-how long ins needed, imo ) It amounts to dictating how and who does business in the arb trade arena

Hey, this is becoming a "I hate insurance companies" thread so Ill stop there / Just cos I think they stink doesnt mean Im right Im afraid !

Pick your insurer carefully I d suggest !
