great video steve thanks for posting.i was also thinking of maybe adding a hand ascender to the setup just to make it easier to hold the rope above the hitch/SJ. This i guess wouldn't need to be attached to any part of you and will only be used as a grip for your hand.... Any comments welcome please

i dont see the point to be honest...its just another thing to have to clip onto your harness. With the pantin ropewalker set up your legs are doing most of the work. gripping the rope really isnt an issue

what if it was just used to gain access to the crown and then you could just send it down the line when you get there? it was just a thought for a more comfortable ascent more than a tool for getting up, i know sometimes i dont put my hands up fast enough and can nip some skin. Figured it would just be more ergonomic lets say...

try it by all means, i just really dont see the point. your hands are on the rope more to balance yourself than anything else with this technique.

Hope you didnt polish its underside too much with the speedline:wink:

great video anyway :thumbup1:

The video angles make it hard to judge, but there really was never any chance of anything hitting that wire. Everything th`t was zipped down the line had a secondary brake line on controlled by me anyway just in case!!
