Has anyone used the AFS by sherrill tree. at frist glance looks really useful,but...looks as though its going to get stuck up in those forks more often than not, what do you think? sells for about

$88.

Sure you could make one up for less. Get a big ring spliced onto some 13mm rope, and then make up the adjuster end with a small ring and some 8mm hitch cord, or a really narrow dyneema tape sling.

 

You could put the adjustable ring onto a normal 2 ring cambium saver, and have the best of both worlds.

 

As for getting stuck, its no different to retrieve than a normal 2 ring FS.

Don't use dyneema in any system where heat can be built up. Dyneema has an incredibly low melting point.

I'd rather use chocolate. For an adjuster though, where you set it, tighten it up and it doesnt move on the host line like a friction hitch, no problem.

its a shame i don't know how to splice. If you don't think it will be any different to the normal cambium saver, i'll give it a try.It still looks bulky to me though.I'll let you know. By the way,does anyone sell them this side of the water?
