Would like to know what this is. It appears on an old poplar stump that is about 4yrs old in my garden. I also think I found it on another stump in a garden on Friday. After looking at the fungi directory I thought it was Golden scaley cap. Am I right?

Thanks.

H. fasciculare.

:thumbup1: , a species, that decomposes the wood with organohalogens (polyaromatic hydrocarbons), which can make the wood "toxic" and unsuited to be used as wood compost.
