Stretch airs, not all there cracked up to be?

Are we talking about the normal Type C Stretch Airs here or the Extreme ones? I'm a poor student, currently wearing second hand SIP Traditional trousers and need any investment to last. Any thoughts?

Cannot find fault with my stretch airs, they do look like they've been thru the wars, but I wear them in thorn, feed the chipper in them, everything in fact, my newest pair are 2 years old, and the other pairs are 3 years old. Just one point, when washing them do you do the flies up? This prevents a lot of stress on the stitching, and is recommended by the manufacturers.
