How did u unplug the autosweep? Iv got that machine and it does slow the machine down so much.

There is the control box under the bonnet. One of the wires there is the auto sweep. Think it's the top one as you look at it. Not sure.

Thats doesnt sound very good.

What does the engine sound like? Does it run well on full revs with no load? does it tick over smoothly?

Engine runs good as far as I'm aware. Don't seem to have any major miss running or anything. It ain't charging the battery mind you. I just need someone to tell me this is the exact problem. Had too many heart breaking days with it and spent enough on parts that ain't making a difference.

Well it starts off ok. It within minutes it will struggle to sweep though the stump. More when sweeping to the right. Since replacing the belts the rpm of the head seems to be slower. It was bouncing of the stump rather than doing any cutting. It never ever picks up the revs when under load and if you catch it too quickly on the stump the whole machine locks up and stalls. It's making grinding unbearable. Ideas?

If the battery isn't charging then the autosweep probably doesn't work as it relies on the feed from the stator (which is the main bit of the charging circuit) to work out the engine speed etc.

If the belts are slack and the auto sweep isn't working(and your used to using the AS) then it will grind really badly.

Did you check the compressions of the cylinders and check the condition of the spark plugs?
