Run a massive pile of brush through the chipper, that way you don't have to do much talking!

Alternatively, find out from the teachers if they've done any projects on related subjects ie: forests, planting, ecology, biomass etc. That way you can make relevant comparisons to something they already know, this can really help with audience participation, Q&A.

 

Take things for them to see and touch but not too sharp or smelly.

 

Don't try to be to clever and baffle them, you'll loose them instantly.

 

Keep it simple, rehearse it very well, stick to your script and you'll be comfortable knowing exactly what you're going to say next.

 

Try not to let your eyes stray every 10 seconds to the prettiest teacher.

 

Plus, remember that you know more than they do on the subject so you'll have their interest, so long as you smile.

I have done a few of these I get local still dealer to donate goodies and did a power point presentation pics of trucks mogs saws trees etc I just went along the lines of why where how we do our jobs and convay a message that "we' care for tree not chop them down.

Be ready for very strange questions and challenging ones too.
