The budget is a tad limiting, however there are some bargains out there. I use A Nikon D40 SLR and I can tell you it is an absolutely spot on camera. I've had mine for 3 years and It's still producing fantastic shots, despite it take a few knocks. I can't express how good the camera is for the price, it's small and compact, in comparrision with many other SLRs, yet still packs a punch. (Check out some of my shots Bell-end's deviantART Gallery Lens wise, it comes with an 18-55mm lens which did the trick for me and should do for what you need, but I steadily upgraded to some larger lenses. However, the only hiccup with this camera is the fact that all future lenses you buy, have to have a built in motor. There are lenses out there, however it gives you less choice over which lenses you want. But don't let this put you off, it's a top camera for only £230 on amazon. Bargain!
