I think I know the plate you are talking of that is shearing off.

Is it the one inside the engine bay?

If it is mine has only three bolts in it.

The originals will have had a collar or shoulder on them that would be an exact fit into the holes in the plate whereas the replacement one may be a sloppy fit, which puts much more forces on them.

I have filled my tyres with water vastly improving the stability problem

I filled mine with a special adapter that lets air out as you put water in, you have the valve stem positioned at 2 oclock so the wheel is only 3/4 full of water.

It is a good idea to put anti freeze in also.

You should also have the counterweight on the back to aid stability.

With water in the wheels it is a totally awesome machine :thumbup1:

Here's a picture of the rear weights

That looks like a well tied down load!!:thumbup:

Interesting thread, I've cowped my little S series CSF a couple of times but assumed that the GT would be a lot more stable stable given the oscillating joint and extra width, and had been considering upgrading largely on that basis. The oscillation can be locked out for extra stability when loaded as I understand it?

From what you're saying I take it that the machine had already fallen over and been damaged before you got it? Did you get it from the original importer in Strathaven?
