Depends what's on the end, usually just lever up 1 end and it will pull out.

question; how come you did'nt just pull them up with the winch using a couple of strops to keep it central? i don't see the need to roll butts that size.

When I do this with my landrover and Ifor combo I place the landy where your red one is and pull them up straight, from the back of the trailer and they have come up a treat.

with your method is there not a good chance of damaging the cable?

Not a criticism just a thought.

Before i got there my mate had tried that with the beech log, and come pretty unstuck- it is a heavy lump (its 13 foot long and 2 foot diameter so fairly lumpy!!) and was just dragging the trailer sideways. I have done it as you describe too, and ended up tearing the metal bed off my old ifor. This is much more controlled and no way as hard on the kit:biggrin:

No- like stevie said lift one end if the log with a lever,or roll the log with a cant hook until the hook is clear.

Thanks, now the penny has dropped I can see the advantages, next time I will definitley use this method,
