I have finally got round to fixing it and it is now working pretty well with a 10" bar for cutting small branches and bits of firewood.

The manual for it says 25:1 for 2 stroke oil/fuel ratio. I asked around, as it is and old saw, to see whether I should still use this ratio or just treat it like my stihl and huskie saws and go with 50:1.

Opinion is divided with some saying that todays more modern 2 stroke oils 50:1 should be ok. I use stihl 2 stroke oil.

What do you guys think?

25:1 was back in the day oil was not as good, modern oils are far better and 50:1 is normal with most modern oils. The ratio is dictated by the oil used and not the saw - Fact.

go 50:1 better to smoke a little than burn a lot.

Like I said - modern oils = 50:1 ratio mix, that will work with no issues

It is my own ex-army Husky 181 - 80cc and no decomp valve - you need some bulk to start and use that saw but is a decent solid saw with a good rep.
