Have seen people using thicker disks of wellingtonia. Easier to shift, easier to find @ 36"+. Some kind of band strap (pallet strapping kind of stuff) might help it last, or the disk off the bottom would be harder to split with the twisted grain. Might be worth a try...... "yes this is work dear, I've got to test this wood by spending all evening throwing an axe at it, to see if it works":sneaky2:
