Hello all, got a question. Iv got a very old willians ( i mean very old) would it still be unusable eventhough its still in the packet and never been used before?

Does it have a manual with it? I'd personally say not. 10 years from manufacturing date is sometimes used. If it has spent years being exposed to sunlight etc it will of degraded a fair bit.

If it is discoloured in any way or you can't account for any period of its storage, I would give it a miss. As previously said, nylon polymers can be degraded by so many things that it's not really worth your life to use an old harness :001_cool:

Its been in storage all its life, it was a LU harness that was ordered and not used. I was going to give it to a friend but i didnt want to give him something dangerous. Il av to check about the manual and stuff as i havent looked at it in a while. Cheers for the fast replies

just wear it when you do conifer hedges and hide it when you get your LOLER inspection...and I never said that! :)

Im going to start doing that, I am sick of wrecking good kit and having a harness only to hang your saw off!
