Old harnesses

Hello all, got a question. Iv got a very old willians ( i mean very old) would it still be unusable eventhough its still in the packet and never been used before?

Does it have a manual with it? I'd personally say not. 10 years from manufacturing date is sometimes used. If it has spent years being exposed to sunlight etc it will of degraded a fair bit.

If it is discoloured in any way or you can't account for any period of its storage, I would give it a miss. As previously said, nylon polymers can be degraded by so many things that it's not really worth your life to use an old harness

Its been in storage all its life, it was a LU harness that was ordered and not used. I was going to give it to a friend but i didnt want to give him something dangerous. Il av to check about the manual and stuff as i havent looked at it in a while. Cheers for the fast replies

Im going to start doing that, I am sick of wrecking good kit and having a harness only to hang your saw off!
