hey im in the process of getting a truck built and its gonna be dont laugh mitsubushi fuso 7.5t, the reason for this is the the high pay load the main question is that im gona put a grab arm on it and want to mount a chipper on the body witch should be powered by the hydraulics from the crane r some sort of pto system on the engine, anybody seen anything like this before, r got any ideas that would help with choice of chipper. my goal is to combine the thing so i can feed the chipper with said crane and then lift logs with crane and not to need a trailer if this lot makes any sense to anyone then please help r some pics of other trucks would be handy many thanks damian

Once you've added the weight of a half decent crane to a 7.5 tonner you have reduced it's payload, to the extent you can't carry much. If you then added a chipper you could probably legally carry very little.

yeah thats why i want to go for the fuso 7.5t because it has a payload of 5 tonnes highest in it catogory i would think i dont know a decent crane would wiegh bout 1 to 1.5 ton a chipper one maybe but if u know more on the subject please help

what if the crane would be on the back and the chipper next to it like i say im just build my dream truck mitsubishi here in vienna say it is possibly do u know of any firms in englad that do this type of coachbuilding

you could easily put a pto and shaft on the back of the gearbox, but would smash your gearbox to pieces after 300 hours use. Hydraulic chipper is doable but again to get the required hp through your hydraulics the engine will be revving its tits off and its not designed to run at high revs stationary. 3 years ago when I started up I had plans to do exactly same thing with a defender and I purchased all the required hydraulic and mechanical parts .......................................... I then sold them all on ebay and bought one of those unimog things :thumbup1:

yeah i know what u mean but cant park unimog in vienna ned specials bits of paper which cost lots of paper and then i need a big trailer for the mog the truck will be built by professinals not at home by me the fuso is good because its low and can get in to all the courtyrads in vienna the mog to big again we havent started building yet but i wanna do it so info infi pleaseindex.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=66&Itemid=46#

cheers something like that but im gonna get it specialy built been speaking to mathew at tip master so sound promising anybody now anything bout fassi cranes specialy the f50 lifting cababilities etc
