Damson in distress

A client of mine has discovered these little nasties all over her Damson Tree. I have not got a clue what they are.

 

Please can someone advise what they are and any action required. Thanks.

 

First two shots are the leave infestation and the last is a fungi of some sort?

It is some sort of gall, but i can not find a picture to match in my insect book. Somebody on here will know.

I would suggest that the brackets are Phellinus pomaceus

Also, is there any concern over Gall Mite, I understood it can happen when the tree is lacking nutrients?

I would asume that would depend on the vigour of the tree.
