To tip three ways-or not tip three ways

I've tipped chips and firewood off the sides of my U900 in places I otherwise could not have reached. It was also handy for contortion-free maintenance access. Unless there's a huge cost differential (presumably not if you're starting from scratch) I'd strongly recommend it. There are implications for chip box design of course.

Excellent point side tipping is very handy for maintenance.

Hi Everyone,

I have been debating on the conversion of my U900 to a tipper with three way action, via the x frame and tipping bed -VS- converting to a bed that will only tip backward. I need to know how valuable the three way tipping is, and how frequently it is employed! Please give me some insight!! Thank you!
