Ash with Gano. And ash with annual die back

Recommended Posts

Found this twin stemmed Ash with a Gano bracket feeding off one of its roots. The roots are clearly visible and rather long and wide. No obvious signs of die back in the crown. (First 5 pics)

The second tree is another ash about 50 metres away. Each year there is about a foot of dieback (previous years growth). The tree has a healthy crown and no fruiting bodies on the trunk or in the crown. (Last 3 pics)

the twin stemmed ash with gano, be wary as even in early stage decays it can weaken the union within and cause a splitting

The union is at ground level and the trunks twist around each slightly but will be keeping an eye on them during the week as we are meant to be in for some "fierce" winds (40 mph +).
