thanks for the feed back. yes it had previously been reduced so i had to work with the old reduction, growth near the knuckle was sparse so i tried my best to get best shape and not leave stubs. in north london were the tree was reduced most gums are still living, unlike at home in essex.

mr bolam how would you reduce this tree then??

at ground level:lol::lol:

not allways that simple. customer wanted to keep the tree so you have to work with it i guess.

excatly ,and if your customers happy then your happy ,:thumbup1: without being in the tree it would be hard to say , i done a few a couple of weeks back that had been hacked in the past and the customer wanted me to hack them even more but i tried to leave what i could and try and get some sort of shape ,i was pretty pleased ! i forgot to take a shot right at the start but the one on the left looked like the one on the right , such a bloody windy day as well !that made it fun :001_smile:

albere, what youve done looks good work. unfortunately what the tree deserves isnt allways what the customer wants. if youve worked to the customers spec and they are happy then its a job well done plus you got a nice shape to it.
