Japanese Elm

Hello everyone.

Been asked to Pollard a Japanese Elm, but having never worked on any Elms apart from felling dead ones, I don't know if they will tollerate being Pollarded. Tried to convince the client to have the crown thinned and then cable-braced (cobra/nirex) but she was having none of it. So can we Pollard Japanese Elms. If not will try to persue the bracing option. Any thoughts??????

IME, Elm's will tolerate being hit hard, even the dead one's tend to have another go after you fell them, the roots or stump often sprout.
