Hi all, 576xp is a brlliant saw!!!!! You can run between 15" and a 42" bar! Now admitantly it helps if you skip the chain on the bigger bars. I run mine with an 8 tooth sprocket no matter what size bar i chuck on it. I only ever run it with Husky xp oil in it and i've hammered the living daylights out of it for just under a year. All i can say its the new 372xp. Heres a couple of saw porn pics :biggrin:

Hi Jon, Yeah ive had a couple of 372 xps which we're either friday night or monday morning saws. They didn't quite have the full beans in them no matter what i did to them, and then ive had some brillient ones. My saw is fully ported, exhaust mod, carb tweek and the pots been polished, and the anti vibe on this saw is brillient.

I currently have a 357 as ive been doing small ash and coppicing. Im doing a year of big beech next and thinking of getting a 576 is this my best bet? cheers

How big is big? The 390 395 are good for big timber say 28" plus. I'd fell and crosscut with that but limb out with the 357.

I've been using the 576xpg for 30" chestnut and it's a fantatic saw. better than a 372. How many trees will you be doing i use my 357 for some big stuff. I've used a 15" bar on a 346 to do a 30" oak. You can cut 3x bar length.

Hi Jon, all i can say about the 660 against my saw, a mate of mine who comes contracting with me has one, and my saw seems to smoke it! My 576 normally runs with a 24" bar on a day to day basis. On the same size bar, it just seems to cut quicker. Dont get me wrong, the stihl 660 is also a good saw, i just find them a little bulky, but thats my personal preference. Its entirely up to you what you go for. My only advice would be to go to your local dealer, and get a couple of different modles in your hands, in the cc your after and see what works for you.

Cheers, Pete.
