Looking for an accurate estimate from foresters tables, or whatever.

Did have some info on how to measure it, but can't think where it is, been a long day!

2.5 M long x 0.45 M diameter at mid point.

Cut today, heavy with water.

I guessed roughly a third of a tonne.

cheers. :001_smile:

95lbs per foot length.

About 375kgs in new money, possibly 400kgs if very wet.

Ill let it out the bag Nige......

I looked at the log table in back page of art and science of practical rigging!:001_tt2:

The table is based more for US trees but dare say the Beech table will be similar to ours.

Is it for working out what length of log a particular wee machine will lift?:sneaky2:

Wee machine did lift.

I reckon its good for a bit more.

I'll have a word with your dad about those weights for the back end.

If you have a word with my Dad, I think there could be 3 or maybe 4 Leyland weights and also think there is a couple of 4 stone weights with an old sack scale.:thumbup1:

I did a volume based weight measurement of some Beech in March and got 1045kg per cubic meter.

Your log has an approximate volume of 0.415 cubic meters, so approximately 433kg.
