Sure this is all about understanding what you are useing and how to use it, thats why thought danger when I mentioned the lock jack steve is it not? A vt is a constant hobby but a rewarding one if you are dedicated to it cear and nurture, but not for a novice who is still learning to move around a tree. Want to try a new knote or kit put it on your lanyard first, oh except the lock jack will have to be the posioner there.

If you like the shunt and mecanical rather than a knote give the Lockjake sport ago. Where are you based bob?

have tried the lockjack but its too slow for me and never liked it much and too expensive and clutches dont last long enough

Both rokker and shunt are fall arest belay devices not designed or made for arb DdRT. I would recomend you think twice about useing them in DdRT. in SRT sure.

the accident you previosly mentioned was investigated by H&S and the shunt system was given a recomendation as being suitable allsorts of our kit is not designed for arb but does not make it unusable

You pull on a sunt it can lock open even when realsed, Under load it is hard to move when it dose move is hard to regulate the speed with the device alown. If you get crap in the top twig leaf saw dust you will have problems you might not have bargined for. ask Petzl they will say not for that aplication.

would be interested in how you use it and who showed you and i have system looked at by petzle and they had no probs i am also irata qualified and when training at petzl we looked at my system and the instructor was happy with it
