does anyone climb useing a shunt

most of the gear and techniques we use are derived from other disciplines.....on one hand we are encouraged to be innovotive and on the other we're told otherwise!

Lockjack has be desiged for DdRT with a CE for that system, like all kit you need to learn how to use it but is a VT as safe as a lockjack?

because you've only yourself to blame if it goes wrong.

You pull on a sunt it can lock open even when realsed, Under load it is hard to move when it dose move is hard to regulate the speed with the device alown. If you get crap in the top twig leaf saw dust you will have problems you might not have bargined for. ask Petzl they will say not for that aplication.

i never had any of those problems when i used a shunt other than speed regulation, but then i had that problem with the lockjack too. admittedly i didnt put much time into the lockjack to get the hang of it good
