TCC advice

I'm competing in the ISA UK TCC this month for the first time ever. To be honest I'm pretty nervous and not really sure what to expect, apart from that its going to be a bloody awesome weekend!

For those of you with some experience in competitions, are there any words of wisdom, tips or advice you could offer to myself and any other first timers out there?

I think I've got my climbing kit sorted, but I was'nt sure if there was any specific minimum recommended kit list (not seen anything on ISA website)? Also, do I need it all LOLER recorded before I turn up or will it be cleared in the pre-comp kit check?

Thank you in advance guys, and best of luck to everyone taking part

You will be well looked after, they mix up the novices with the more experienced and even though its a competition everyone help each other.

Not sure about kit lists, make sure your rope is long enough! A 37m is rarely enough, 45 should be ok.

I think this year you do need all kit Loler certified, its a new thing so not sure if you can get it done there or not. The kit can get checked there, and maybe written certs can be issued independantly from the TCC kit check.

You dont need anything more than your usual climbing kit, if your short of anything we have some spares, even long ropes:thumbup1:

LOLER, if you cant produce a cert, you gear will be throughly inspected, if you can produce a current cert your gear will just be check, ok?

as its your first time come with an open mind and expect to lean loads, the novice section this year will get majority of the prizes so if you do good expect to come away with loads of goodies:thumbup:

I'm in the same boat but was talking to a lad called Owen last week who works closely with nod and treeworker, and he was saying it's a really chilled out atmosphere and everyone is really cool.

I'm still nervous though as it's my first comp as well, just hope I'm not as bad as I think I am.
