Customer loyalty; what to do.

Doubled the price from last year and if he asks I'll tell him why. If I don't get the job it's no major as it's not that much of a job. Obviously not going to be recommended to his friends if he's willing to jump from company to company so I'm not going to worry about it. Usually, if I have someone do a good job for me I'll use them again or at least let them know I'm getting other comparison quotes. Even if a comparison quote is cheaper I won't always go for that quote but rather the outfit that had done a good job the time before.

just stick the PITA levy on top and the ball is back in his court

Is that like the numpty tax (it's actually known as the FW tax but can't say that on here) that I apply to jobs that the home owner has tried to do themselves, cocked it up and left the mess for me to sort out :001_tt2:

Stick to your original price. He is trying to play one service against another for the best possible price. Remember " no one can pimp yourself or your product better than you".

No one! People with small egos and the need to play mind games are out there in every industry. Learn from them and know what to expect, you may be surprised how quickly they will respect you in turn.

I didn't give him an orginal price. I did the job for him last year with which he was happy. This year he rang someone else and didn't give me the opportunity to price the job. The other company dicked him around so he came crying back to me and now wants the job done ahead of everyone else that I've got booked in. He hasn't discussed the other companies price with me. My point is that I was second pick this time around yet he is still expecting the same favours as I would give to a loyal customer.

First come first served. Although this client has been part of your income stream in the past he really needs to wait his turn. If you bend over backwards to fit his needs than everyone else will wonder what happen?. REMEMBER You work for yourself. Most clients understand that some others still need some training.
