That shocking really i couldnt imagine people wanting to steal wood and must be annoying for you guys after all the hard work put into it too i guess i just assumed people done like me used their own land etc ,i source my wood from the river from our own ground and from freinds farms mainly and any friends who are removing trees from their gardens or if i see somebody clearing somthing its always worth asking,

I also know a few local tree surgeons but to be honest get plenty from my own source so have never needed to get any brought in but guess i will soon find out how common it is once i get my tickets and start working places guess i better get me a chain and lock and somthing to staple them firmly to the ground either that or leave my dogs on the job until im able to remove them from the site lol

we usually mark our end pieces of the stack at both ends with a blue dot if at a public area, and then we can see if any has been taken - very often you find little monkeys with large carboots and a chainsaw saw off the last 3 ft off a 12ft log from the back to make it look like the stack hasnt been touched! - and most people think they are stealing only from the Forestry Commission and not from the contractor who has bought the timber standing.
