I couldn't agree more with those promoting a course of any length. I would have a look at http://www.coppice-products.co.uk/ for your nearest provider. Safe use and tool preparation before getting started is important just like you have trained in other areas of your life. Books are great, I have many trees worth but working with someone in the know will help you move forward.

I spent a small fortune on old tools before I found out what was what. Save your money by learning first before buying.

Thanks Jammy, it means a lot that a relative stranger should make such a comment! :001_smile:

I'm doing a stall at an Easter Fair this Sun and Mon at a local garden centre called Plants That Grow, this project and the gate will be coming with me along with all sorts of other paraphernalia including tasters for my beef and pork! really looking forward to it!

About

Arbtalk.co.uk is a hub for the arboriculture industry in the UK.
If you're just starting out and you need business, equipment, tech or training support you're in the right place.  If you've done it, made it, got a van load of oily t-shirts and have decided to give something back by sharing your knowledge or wisdom,  then you're welcome too.
If you would like to contribute to making this industry more effective and safe then welcome.
Just like a living tree, it'll always be a work in progress.
Please have a look around, sign up, share and contribute the best you have.

See you inside.
