I do still wonder how many who've signed up would stick to their guns when it comes down to the nitty-gritty, good old-fashioned hard-earned cash for felling? I mean, we have families to feed, clothe, etc bills dont pay themselves. Its fine to take the moral high-ground, but to the point of going cold and hungry, I will not. So I wont sign still.:001_smile:

They should re-open old railways where possible, get working on the current rail network, and build more canals. a diesel v8 that can pull 20 ton trailers on a motorway, can move 600 tons in a canal freight carrier and use a quarter less fuel than it would pulling those 20 ton. Also it would be somewhere for all the flood water to go. :) It would involve a big shake up in organising transport and involve advanced planning, get rid of the culture of last minute scurry to the phone to arrange it all. Modern canal carrying is much safer too.

Ignorance? That is not respectful of anothers point of view now is it, and I find it a little rude tbh, but luckily I have a thick skin, broad shoulders and thick enough skull to not be particularly bothered. I'll let you get back to your worthy cause, and take up no more of your valuable time tonight. Good luck in your quest Tony

So you are going to be cold and hungry if you sign this petition?

The fact is that you will never turn down work if the all mighty dollar is always the ultimate decider.

Spot on.:thumbup1:

BTW there is no need whatsoever for a thread to turn nasty, its a discussion forum, people dont always see eye-to-eye, I can agree to disagree.

Where is the sense in getting all hot under the collar, just have mutual respect thats all.:001_smile:

I can not respect a point of view when that point of view is based on being allowed to do what we like, and stuff the consequences, that is the whole root of all the problems we face.

it is the same as saying, "im allright jack so stuff the rest of the world"
