.......and you should see what we are paying in Ireland when you compare us to the UK market.

For example, this week I purchased a Hailo combi ladder from a UK supplier, paid £45 to have it shipped to Ireland and it still worked out a full €110 euro cheaper than purchasing the exact same ladder here. When I compare prices of chainsaws, hedgecutters etc it brings tears to my eyes.

CE marking is done with the firm who produce the product. I always assumed it was done by an EU testing house. HSE and Trading Standards told me this.

I imported a stump grinder when £1=$2, importing is no big deal, for certain equipment it is zero VAT. So some say support UK market, well lets face when does some of this equipment come from?? CE marks well I think Honey Bros used to get away with stating on their invoice that the standards were equivilent or exceed those required for CE marking. Freighter & Craterts were the company I used, incredible service.
