County 754 starter motor & battery dead???

Hi

Managed to get a large branch jammed between the starter motor and injector pump today :blushing:, got it out and everything looked ok. Tried to start the county again and the starter motor was for want of a better word only turning half of what it should do. After a bit of swearing and poking around and turning it over, battery went dead after 15 mins and from turning it over in short bursts about 5-6 times :confused1:.

I'm 99% the battery is ok (not that old), alternator is brand new and working ok, and all wires and pipes look as they should be.

Am I missing something obvious??!

Any help much appreciated!!

yes sell it to me:thumbup:

check connections on starter motor, make sure solanoid is not damaged.

If you had asked me earlier I might have!

Only thing not checked was solanoid, everything else is is place and looks connected ok :confused1:. Happened late in day so will have more of a poke around tomorrow though.

If you've had a branch twixt motor and block then the solenoid may have took a knock. When you go tomorrow, take some leads, another battery and tools to get it off and see if the bending pops the starter out and it spins with torque. If it is okay then it should pop and spin smartly! Otherwise, solenoid and or starter could have gone duff or even the battery or leads might not be good.

Cheers.
