I've been doing a fair amount of hedge laying recentley, and after losing two teeth off my chain today to a length of rusty barbed wire I didn't see until it was too late it's time to replace my chain!

I've been looking at the oregon multicut, does anyone have any experience of it? If it's useless, can anyone recommend a better chain for dirtier/frozen wood please?

To go on a Husqvarna 346xp 16" bar, at the moment I have Oregon type 21 BPX.

cheers,

Joe

stick to a normal loop mate!

i bought a multicut loop for my 346,not very impressed!

it states you need to sharpen less than a normal chain,i disagree.

thats hedge laying for you,i have gone all day without having to sharpen the chain and other days you sharpen about 4 times:001_huh:

as you know, theres old barb, the nails where the old farmer has nailed the barb to the tree and even stones in the growing hedge:thumbdown:

we used to pull all the old fence out first, the i would go along and spray all the nails and growing in barb that i could not remove with the fencing pliers with the bright orange marker spray

Yes, I use it for firewooding where the wood has been dirtied by skidding. It is exactly the same in form as say 75LP (LPX) plus the chromium and I do think it lasts a little longer; 20-30% perhaps. It is 3p a loop more expensive than standard so I'm happy to use it.

(well, 3p a loop where I buy it from anyway!)
