Tip, Dean when you get to do the job and if the lecy boys are on site at the same time, get a mobile number, saves a lots of messing about next time...

I've got a couple of the shrouding/shutdown boys numbers on my phone one call is all I make

Thats the key, going through "head office" is a total waste of time.

Dean is it possible to winch it backwards ?

No Buzz, we took down 11 mature trees along the line by doing just that. But the last one is a bar steward.

I can even use the MEWP because that would be, IMO more dangerous because it's a conductor.

At the point where the tree is over the wire the branch would be 15ft above. But the wire goes to a pole and then splits off two other ways, right underneath.

A bit like your average BT phone line through the tree job :sneaky2:.

While we're on the subject of BT, the bar stewards sent me a bill for £400 for 2hrs putting a line back up which I chopped through with H/trimmers. I do the job every year and this year they had been and run a wire right through the tops of the conifer.

How many lines do we clear for them FOC.

I'll be ring up this week and giving them a bit of whats for. I bet the guy has booked the day on the job and then sat in a layby somewhere :sneaky2:
