Roost Shooting

One of the joys of roost shooting. We can go down some of the muddiest tracks on the estate. Because we have mud terrain tyres we can go places other people cant. Was good fun going along one track known as Hardings Resi to Penfold Resi track. It is being heavily used by tractors and has been for the past two years. Lots of sloppy, claggy chalk clay mix on a very compact base. This is the result.

We used to go out lamping on a regular basis on a few local farms. Sadly the farms were bought by high wage "townies" and the sporting rights were removed. Still was good fun whilst it lasted. The best my dad and i ever had was 19. That was at the end of Sept 09. We are currently focusing on the farrowing pens on one of the big local estates and can normally have 5 or 6 a night.
