Just bought an old Bedford Cf ambulance to convert into a campervan. I'll post pictures of the progress over the next few months (read: years)

It's been used as a gun bus for a few years. Bit of a clean needed and in the future a new engine and poss gearbox, although this one is fine for local travelling.

I would of liked the big renault, though :001_cool:

fantastic idea! I've seen fire engines being turned into camper vans before. And you can always filter through the traffic a lot quicker than most of the unfortunate commuters in their expensive Jags!:thumbup1:

Hahahaha, I lived in one of them more years ago than what I'm going to admit to here!

Great project . Please keep us posted with updates and piccies.

janey - my flat tenancy runs out in may, so i will hopefully be living in it over the summer - it will save £600+ a month in rent, council tax, bills etc

i got it really cheap so if i get to the point where it's needing a bit too much work (shouldn't do), i can get my money back. it is structurally sound, not even any proper rust to speak of on wheel arches and cab floor. MOT'd last august and sat around since - started first time after 5 months!

Now that's a nice bit of kit :thumbup1:. Why don't you hijack that and get a cutie classic caravan, like a Safari, to live in?
