yet another question. i have been scouring the net for cheap saws. i have a found a cheap ms 260 2009 really cheap. how can i tell if its nicked???? also how can i tell what year the saw is???

Ask to see an invoice from the dealer, if it's genuine he should have one.

he says he bought off ad trader as a business investment. he doesnt have any paper work that why i susspect its stolen

Not really any way you can chase it. Still will no what dealer they sold it to from the serial number. But I don't think they will tell you because of the Data protection thing.

Dont buy it then. You could do a lot worse than speak to Timber Cutter Dartmoor off the forum. He regularly has VERY good second hand saws for sale that are in excellent condition, of various makes, ages and sizes.

the year of the saw is on the sticker on the chainbrake handle. Is the seller a *****? lol:001_cool:that should of said pikie

Sometimes people just don't know the true value of their saws, I have picked up some bargains in my time, and been ripped off as well.

 

What makes this guy look dodgey, has he a bad rep - selling at lower than market value may mean he is just a bit slow and hasn't done his homework:confused1:

Sometimes saws turn up on the bay or whatever very cheap. It can often be folks that have been left things in wills etc. They have no idea what its value is, but have seen `similar` things in B&Q and just want to turn everything into money.
