Pollarding

Hi all!

Is it okay to pollard apple trees this time of year? I have been working on an orchard where some of the trees are completely covered in misltoe, I've been hitting them back to good unions leaving a good framework, is there a chance they will come back? Many thanks

Dave, I've never seen that before. What's the management regime for the stumps from now on? They'll be hairy caterpillars next winter so I guess cleaning the trunks and removing all but three or four shortened new stems will be in order...?
