Hi,

random question as i cant find an online IPL for stihls strimmers, does anyone know if all the shaft sizes the same between the pro strimmers eg fs85 to fs100 and the clearing saws fs250 upwards?

I know they have the same gear ratio but wondered if they have the same sized shaft as i have loads of bits for the strimmers eg hedge cutter heads, rotavators, spare gearboxes, shafts etc, and just wondered if these would fit a clearing saw? as i fancy upgrading to a clearing saw :001_tt1: but wont bother if i cant swap my existing parts

blimey this is an old thread! I got a FS460 about a month after this thread started (its the older version of the 550) and its a beast, paid £38 off ebay  then about £60 to get the gears replaced in the head and its awesome, still has the dealers tickets and everything on it from when it was supplied new, so i dont think its done a lot

just a bit fierce on the vibrations, but its ok as the tank full of fuel doesnt last a huge length of time anyway, and you need the padded harness to carry it about as it weights a lot especially in summer

The gearheads swap from the 85 up to the 250 easily the 350 upwards uses a different head and shaft.

I was using a muffler modded FS250 for a while but i now use a FS450 its like using a brand new razor blade compared to the 250s the extra power is really handy and the vibes are fairly low

You do need to fill that little tank a lot!
