Which are the best current general purpose cranes on the market at reasonable trade prices?

I did have a Mowi from new which was ideal but the current range seems expensive. I had considered a little used MOD Atlas crane but not sure if spares still available and conversion to move wood.

If you are after a project - I have an MK4 with mid winch and an Atlas crane in the brambles!

I have the vehicle to use with a crane however I am interested to know if this is the original PTO driven Bedford winch and the overall condition of the cabin as this model does have rust problems:001_rolleyes:

Unusual to have winch and Atlas unit on the same vehicle.

4x4 Truck/Unimog/Fastrac type vehicle. Possible on the back to load trailers. The version we had was on a Skog 8 with the 2453 crane.

Smooth cranes to use but not sure if there is a more current version made by additional firms?

If you need lift capacity then a Botex crane from Wilsons is the best bet. Come ins 6 7 or 8 m reach with 2.8t close in lift. Kelsa craes and trailers are nice too.

Just for you Trad Log.

Yes it was an original winch fitted for the army but the crane was to be fitted to a sub-chassis with the whole lot to be used as a mobile crane. But the project stalled and she is sat in the brambles for at least 10 years so you can imagine the cab without seeing the photographs. However, a sorted cab may be available at the same site. Viewable in S Derbyshire/ N Leics.
