entec electric roller problem

ok, I posted a similar post a few months ago. When starting chipper, ch25ph kohler engine) the rollers will sometimes not go round. either forward or reverse. The last time this happened i cleaned terminals etc with wd40 and all was ok. Have tried this again but problem persists. only this time the rollers only work in reverse when the button is held in. Forwards works as it should.

 

if rollers wont go round you have to stop engine and restart. throttle up and see if rollers will go round. sometimes it works first time. sometimes you have to start the thing two or three times to get rollers to go round. Once they are going round you can chip ok. you can also allow the chipper to power down and tick over, and throttle up again and there is never a problem. Problem only occurs when chipper is switched off again. Hope this makes sense.

 

problem is nothing to do with throttle rpm or dirty filters. I'm sure it's electrical but cant narrow it down. Could it be a relay?

Hi

 

The symptoms you describe are typical of a sticky relay or switch.

 

The relay in the system is an SRB 500 which you can purchase locally for a few pounds, it is a push in pull out relay , please use either Hella or lucas makes as a replacement.

Your switches need to be checked out for correct operation, both mechanically and electrically, please check all the switches in the switch box and the control bar switch as well.
