Discovery Series 1

Odd one this.

Has anyone lined a three door series 1? Im thinking of buying one with the back seats, then plying up the floor. Making the back footwells into storage cupboards accessible from the top, obviously taking out the seats. But possibly leaving in the fold down boot seats. thats the basics, a couple of extras would be added, a shelf behind the seats for a rifle, lots of storage space etc. for overlanding.

Problems being;

1. I don't have a vehicle to look and plan round.

2. I haven't seen this sort of thing done before.

3. Don't know if it can be done.

If you've done it/seen it/heard of it. I would much appreciate any info, especially photos, that you might have.

Cheers

Sam

better off just getting a commercial I reckon mate. They come up now and again, had mine for about a year and its just right for me:thumbup1:. They are getting on now though ( last ones made in '98), so check carefully for rust!

We run vans as very tax efficent. Also the vans even with high miles often have been looked after. Watch the floor can cost over £500 to sort rust. vans often have better floors than the cars because lack of leaking windows and sunroofs and no carpet to hold the damp.

I had one, check the boot floor, inner arches and diff lock. Good motors though. I had mine for a year and sold it for the same money I bought it for. You can get a haynes manual for modifying them, it tells you about lining and other stuff your talking about.
